On Saturday, May 9th, the official inauguration of the new wooden service structure built by Subissati took place at Parco Franchi in Montelupone (MC), in the presence of local institutions, the municipal administration, and the community.
A meaningful moment for the area and the local community, which celebrated the opening of a new sustainable public space, perfectly integrated into the natural setting of one of Italy’s most beautiful villages which has received a prestigious recognition from the Touring Club Italiano.
Nestled in the greenery of Parco Franchi, the new structure is a concrete example of how modern timber architecture can contribute to the regeneration of public spaces, enhancing the landscape and improving the quality of life in the area.
The project was conceived with the goal of creating a functional and multipurpose space for the community — one capable of engaging harmoniously with its surroundings through careful architectural design and the use of wood as the primary material.
The single-storey wooden structure built by Subissati stands out for its contemporary and clean design, conceived to blend naturally with the park and the village landscape.
The timber slat cladding emphasizes the main volume and visually frames the side entrance, creating continuity between interior and exterior while strengthening the connection with the surrounding nature. Wood itself, with its warm and authentic materiality, helps make the building harmonious, welcoming, and perfectly at home in its environmental context.
The outdoor spaces have also been designed to encourage usability and social interaction: the wide portico with glulam timber beams creates a sheltered transitional zone for outdoor use, conceived as a meeting point for residents and visitors alike, adding architectural depth and bringing out the aesthetic and structural qualities of the material.
This new project confirms how timber structures today represent an ideal solution for public builds oriented towards sustainability, energy efficiency, and territorial enhancement — capable of combining architectural quality, wellbeing, and landscape integration.
An increasing number of local administrations are choosing timber buildings to invest in sustainability, energy efficiency, fast construction, and collective wellbeing. Wood also guarantees high performance in terms of safety, durability, and comfort, contributing to the creation of innovative, future-oriented public spaces.
With this new project, we at Subissati broaden our portfolio of public timber works, reaffirming our commitment to designing and building wooden structures that bring together architectural quality, environmental sustainability, and the enhancement of the local territory.
