Works start on the Pre-School and Primary School - Ancona (AN)

Work began a few days ago on the new “Mercantini” primary school and the “Sirenetta” pre-school of Ancona, in the district of Palombina.

The new building, which is structured over a single floor measuring approximately 1400 m2, will be developed using a wooden support structure

and will feature two separate entrances, one for the pre-school and one for the primary school, but both inside and outside the building, the two structures will be connected.

The pre-school has been positioned on the ground floor and comprises a large entrance hall, two large sections, two rooms for free-time activities, toilets, toilets and a room for auxiliary staff, teachers’ toilets and room, H toilets, store room and laundry.

Instead, the primary school will have five classrooms, two large inter-cycle/complementary classrooms, toilets, H toilet, teachers’ room and toilet, changing room, toilet with changing room and cleaning products for auxiliary staff, atrium and corridor.

The design of the main front was developed in connection with the direction it faces and the possibility of having the greatest possible quantity of natural light enter the classrooms, yet without reducing the quality and comfort of the rooms by causing excessive temperature variations.

As the façade faces north and there is therefore no need for screening, the choice was made to design “cusp” elements that, directed in a timely manner would allow in, or screen, the quantity of light required according to the time of day.

These items are not only extremely practical but also give the front a sensation of movement, making for a dynamic façade that, together with the variety of colours of the panels cladding the cusps, also creates a pleasant aesthetic effect, exalting the teaching-fun aspect of the building designed and making it immediately recognisable by the community.

The building will be developed in accordance with the latest seismic standards and equipped with modern technological systems.

 

The school will be developed using "Platform Frame” construction technology.
