Next construction completion: single-family home – Cupramontana (AN, Ancona province)

A beautiful slice of the Marches region. A rural building, in part collapsed and unrecoverable. A new house to build. 

 We are in Cupramontana (AN, Ancona province), one of the municipalities in the interior of the Marches, home to one of the oldest and most famous grape harvest festivals in Italy and where the works will soon be starting for a new wooden home.

What we’re going to build will be a modern, contemporary house for our times, but it will also partly retain something of the old building. A portion of the original walls will be entirely rebuilt using the original brick and stone elements for retaining its history, a memory of the former dwelling.

Nothing is destroyed and everything is transformed, in an infinite cycle not only for people but also for houses; the only way that we can truly be sustainable.

The decision to build the new building with a prefabricated wooden frame was the explicit brief of the client who, given the recent seismic activity, wanted a fully anti-seismic structure that could be built at a reasonable cost.

The form of the structure will be two adjacent parallelepiped volumes of different height and size with a pitched roof. The living area is in the highest part of the building with an entrance, dining/reception room, kitchen, mezzanine in the central part of the roof pitch as an attic and with a bathroom. The lower part of the building is intended as the sleeping area where there are two large bedrooms, two bathrooms, a storage room, the heating system room and a laundry.

The relationship with the surrounding environment will also be highlighted, restated and developed with the presence of porticoes and pergolas surrounding the house; giving the house a continual relationship with the external space.

The home will be constructed with Subissati Platform Frame building technology.
