In Cupramontana (AN), work has almost been completed on a new, lamellar wood home.
The internal works are currently being concluded (systems, screed, plasterboard), whilst external work has almost been completed.
From a formal viewpoint, the home has two parallelepiped volumes that meet and combine to generate the single body of the house that stands over just one floor for approximately 130 m2.
The home was developed by demolishing an old rural building that could not be restored.
To preserve the memory, however, a portion of the original wall will be reconstructed using the original stone and brick elements.
Last but by no means least, the client has opted for a wooden building, partly because the territory is at high risk of earthquake and partly for the certainty of timing and cost of construction.
The result is a modern, contemporary building yet with firm roots and heart in the old rural homes typical of the area.
The house was built using “Subissati Platform Frame” building technology.
