Work completed on a new wooden villa - Ferrara

Recently completed work on a new single-family wooden villa. The house is located in the beautiful city of Ferrara, surrounded by nature and in a protected area. The house will have two floors. The living area (including a study) is located on the ground floor and covers some 210 square metres. On the first floor, measuring about 70 square metres, we find the sleeping area with two bedrooms, wardrobe and bathroom. At the rear of the house is the garage area.

For the client, it was of paramount importance to have a traceable and environmentally sustainable supply chain and therefore a guaranteed production process; this was one of the reasons why they relied on us. For more than 20 years, the company has been on a quality path that has led to numerous certifications. All our materials are traceable, e.g. the wood we use for our homes comes from sustainably managed forests.

As we always say, wood is a material which lends itself to many interpretations and styles, and this house is undoubtedly proof of that.

The forms of the house are both classical and contemporary, designed to fit into the territory with the “right orientation”, seeking a continuous dialogue between innovation and tradition.

The house is also state-of-the-art in terms of energy. The building is equipped with photovoltaic panels, inverter modules, accumulators, thermal flywheels, boilers, heat pump units, pressurisation units, CMV - Controlled Mechanical Ventilation, gas-free, and rainwater collection system.

These innovations, together with the capacity of the envelope, attempt to achieve general self-sufficiency and a near zero emission building (NZEB).

The prefabricated glulam house was built using the “Platform Frame Subissati” construction system
